BREAKING NEWS: Judge Dismisses Third-Degree Murder Charge Against Ex Officer Derek Chauvin For His Participation In The Murder of George Floyd

A judge has decided to drop third-degree murder charges against ex-Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin. However, Chauvin’s charges of manslaughter and second-degree murder still stand.

If you don’t already know the story, Derek Chauvin was a Minneapolis police officer who was captured on video pressing his knee against 46 year old George Floyd’s neck, ultimately leading to his tragic death. In the video you hear Mr. Floyd crying out for his mom and telling the officer that “I can’t breathe” multiple times.

After this act of police brutality, it struck a worldwide Black Lives Matter Movement that brought people of difference races to come together and end police violence towards African Americans.

Thousands of people gather for a peaceful demonstration in support of George Floyd and Regis Korchinski-Paquet and protest against racism, injustice and police brutality, in Vancouver, on Sunday, May 31, 2020.
