The United Kingdom Parliament is currently debating on a petition seeking sanctions for Nigerian Government and its officials over human rights abuse and violations and use of excessive force in suppressing peaceful protest.
Recall that the Parliament had scheduled the debate for today, November 23, and it is currently being streamed live online.
Speaking on the issue of corruption in Nigeria, a member of parliament said Britain would have to use the powers it has to stop officials who are profiting from the corruption in Nigeria and hiding it in the United Kingdom.
According to him, they are aware that there are Nigerians who have illegally stashes Nigerian government funds in the European country.
