President Muhammadu Buhari has acknowledged the quick renunciation of the Service Chiefs and named new officials as substitutions.
The new Service Chiefs are: Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defense Staff; Major-General I. Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral A.Z Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air-Vice Marshal I.O Amao, Chief of Air Staff.
This was reported on Tuesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina who noticed that the service chiefs have additionally resigned from service.
Those included are the Chief of Defense Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ekwe Ibas; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar.
President Buhari appreciated the active Service Chiefs for what he calls their “staggering accomplishments in our endeavors at carrying suffering harmony to our dear nation,” wishing them well in their future undertakings.
He praised the new Service Chiefs and encouraged them to be faithful and committed in the release of their duties.
