PM of Ivory Coast, Hamed Bakayoko has passed on in a medical clinic in Germany.
Bakayoko kicked the bucket on Wednesday March 10 of malignant growth in the German city of Freiburg, where he was getting clinical treatment. His demise came two days after his 56th birthday celebration and eight months after his archetype likewise passed on.
President Alassane Ouattara depicted Mr Bakayoko as a “great statesman, an example to young people and a man of exemplary loyalty”. He said in an articulation;
“Our country is in mourning. I have the immense sorrow to announce the death of the Prime Minister, Hamed Bakayoko, Head of Government, Minister of Defense, this Wednesday March 10, 2021, in Germany, as a result of cancer.
“I pay tribute to the Prime Minister, Hamed Bakayoko, my son and close collaborator, too soon torn from our affection.”
Mr Bakayoko was traveled to France in February for clinical trials and was subsequently moved to Germany because of his decaying wellbeing.
A previous media leader who went to legislative issues, he played a conspicuous intervention part in Ivory Coast’s thoughtful battle during the main decade of the century.
“He was a key player in the political game and a major player in reconciliation. It’s a true shame,” Issiaka Sangare, representative for the opposition Ivorian Popular Front disclosed to AFP news.
