Award-winning cultist ‘Baba Ibeji’ and gang members arrested in Lagos

Adedotun Jelili alias Baba Ibeji, a suspected cultist, and his gang members were detained in Ikorodu by the Lagos state police command.

According to a statement posted on the state police’s Twitter page, he was caught with three others in a cultists’ den as security agents were reacting to a resident alarm.

In January 2022, Baba Ibeji, a 25-year-old cult leader, is believed to have earned a honourable award.

The statement was as follows:

”PRESS RELEASE

CULTISM: POLICE STORM CULTISTS’ DEN IN IKORODU, ARREST THREE

Acting upon intelligence provided by civic-minded Lagosians, operatives of the CP Special Squad of the Command stormed some cultists’ den in Isawo, Ikorodu on April 16, 2022.

Adedotun Jelili ‘m’ 25yrs, and Solomon Moses ‘m’ 22yrs have provided useful information to the Police.

The Lagos State Police Command uses this medium to call on parents, guardians, traditional/religious/political/youth leaders to prevail on the teeming youth population to shun cultism and other vices.

Suspects will be charged to court at the completion of investigation.”
